Financial Benefits

The ECE program at ABU supports highly qualified students as Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Research Assistants (RAs) on competitive basis.  Students who are applying to MS program are eligible for financial benefits only if they are selected as RAs or TAs.

RAs are selected by the individual faculty based on student’s academic qualifications and research interests. RAs are expected to work closely with the supervising faculty on funded research projects. Benefits include tuition waiver (15.000 TL/year), stipend (up to 2500 TL/month) and housing allowance (up to 500 TL/month). RAs are expected to fulfill at most 10 hours in a week in grading homeworks, quizzes, projects, running the labs, and holding office hours.

TAs are chosen by the Graduate Program Committee of ECE program based on student’s academic qualifications (GPA, test scores, recommendation letters etc.). The students should apply separately to the open TA positions in Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering and Department of Computer Engineering. They are expected to fulfill at most 20 hours in a week in grading homeworks, quizzes, projects, running the labs, and holding office hours. Benefits include tuition waiver (15.000 TL/year), and stipend (up to 3500 TL/month).

Travel grants will be provided for both TAs and RAs to attend conferences, if his/her work is accepted as an oral presentation in a reputable conference. Shuttle services and lunches will be freely provided by the university. There will also be allocated office spaces.
